Charlotte DOT Exam Center has been certifying commercial drivers since 1985. Our examiner runs the physical, completes the paperwork, and submits to the National Registry while you are still in the building. Most drivers walk out with the certificate in 30 to 45 minutes.
Alex answers every hour of every day, in English and Spanish, and texts you the address as soon as you are booked.

Booked before 23 October for a November date? You keep the $70 rate. We do not change a price after you have been quoted one.
One price covers everything: the examination, the urine test, your certificate, and the National Registry submission. There is no separate paperwork fee and no charge for the card itself.
Where to go, and when
Our Charlotte facility is being finalised. Until it opens, our examiner holds clinic in Monroe, roughly half an hour east of south Charlotte, inside an established medical practice.

Which Fridays and Saturdays changes from month to month. Rather than publish a list that goes stale, we keep the live schedule on the booking line. Alex will read you the open dates.

Calling is faster. Alex checks the live calendar and has you booked inside a couple of minutes, at three in the morning if that suits your route.

Questions drivers actually ask
Is the urine test a drug test?
No. The urinalysis at a DOT physical looks for signs of underlying medical conditions, things like protein, blood or sugar in the urine. It is not a drug screen and it is not reported as one. If your employer needs a drug screen, that is a separate service arranged separately.
Do I leave with my medical card?
If you meet the FMCSA standards on the day, yes. The examiner completes the certificate before you leave and submits the result to the National Registry the same day. If something needs following up, such as a letter from your own doctor, we will tell you exactly what is needed before you go.
How long should I allow?
Most drivers are done in 30 to 45 minutes from check-in to certificate. Arrive about ten minutes early so the paperwork is started before the examiner sees you.
I was quoted $70 in October for a November appointment. What do I pay?
$70. Anyone booked before 23 October keeps that rate whenever their exam falls. The new price applies to bookings made from 23 October onward for dates in November and later.
Can I just turn up?
Walk-ins are welcome during clinic hours and we will fit you in. Booking is still the better plan, because a booked slot is a slot nobody else can take and you will not be waiting behind three drivers who called ahead.
What do I need to have with me?
Bring your CDL or photo ID, and a written list of every medication you take with the doses. Then whichever of these apply to you:
• Glasses or contacts, if you drive with them
• Hearing aids, if you use them
• Blood pressure or blood sugar readings, if you keep them
• A letter from your specialist for any condition under treatment
• Your current medical card, if you are recertifying
• Your CPAP compliance report, if you use one
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. The booking line handles Spanish, and Dr. Tebby speaks Spanish during the examination. Say so when you book and your reminder text will come in Spanish too.
Something came up and I need to move my appointment.
Call 844-708-5403 at any hour and move it. There is no fee and no penalty. Tell us rather than not turning up, because the slot goes to another driver who needs it.
Why is a Charlotte clinic examining in Monroe?
We are between permanent facilities. Rather than stop examining while we finalise the new Charlotte location, the examiner holds clinic inside an established practice in Monroe on Fridays and Saturdays. Same examiner, same price, same certificate.
