DOT Physicals for University City, NC Drivers
University City to Monroe is fifty minutes around the I-485 loop, which sounds long until you compare it with waiting in an urgent care behind the flu cases. Drivers only, certificate in hand before you leave, and Saturday hours if the week is full.
Certifying commercial drivers since 1985. Alex books 24 hours a day in English and Spanish and texts you the address as soon as you are booked. Walk-ins welcome during clinic hours.
About 35 miles, about 50 minutes. From University City take I-485 south (the outer loop, toward Matthews) to the US-74 east exit, then follow US-74 Business (Roosevelt Blvd) into Monroe. The clinic is on W Roosevelt Blvd, inside Keith Clinic at Suite A.
The I-85 and I-485 corridor north of Charlotte is distribution country, and most of the drivers we see from University City, Harrisburg and the Mallard Creek side drive for a fleet whose safety manager wants cards renewed on time. If that is you, your employer can book several drivers in one call.

Charlotte DOT Exam Center has certified commercial drivers since 1985. While our new Charlotte facility is finalised, Dr. Alan Tebby, one of our two FMCSA-certified medical examiners, holds clinic in Monroe on Fridays and Saturdays, inside an established medical practice with truck parking on site.

Covers the exam, the urine test, your certificate and the National Registry submission. Nothing else to pay.
Arrive ten minutes early for paperwork. Dr. Tebby checks vision, hearing, blood pressure and pulse, runs the urine test (a medical screen, not a drug test), goes through your history and medications, and does the physical. Most drivers are finished in 30 to 45 minutes. If you meet the FMCSA standards, your certificate is signed and printed before you leave and submitted to the National Registry the same day. The Registry passes the result to the NC DMV electronically; you no longer hand in the paper certificate.
Bring your CDL or photo ID, a written list of your medications and doses, glasses or contacts if you drive with them, hearing aids if you use them, your current card if you are recertifying, and your CPAP compliance report or a specialist’s letter if either applies to you.

Can my employer book several of us at once?
